Eh, a promise of a hug.

I'm after being promised a hug as a symbol of appreciation. I asked what type of hug I would be looking forward to. And she didn't think there was more than one type of hug! Or style of hugging, whichever term you prefer...

The Quick Hello Hug;
This is a quick embrace with only a momentary period of contact. Contact may just be with arms around the partner's body and bare minimum of the chest, and light pressure. Both parties may not stand within each other's personal space. Friendship is the relationship between these two people at nothing more.

The Good-Friend Hello Hug;
This is a little longer than the previous Quick Hello Hug. That is because of the length of time and level of comfort of both people in this relationship. They may have gone through a bit more than the previous pair and know their boundries better than the first couple. They will step in closer so the feet are pretty much touching. More intimate than the first, but still not lovey dovey.

The Man Hug;
Only used between two hetrosexual men. This can go very wrong for some guys. I found a good article on it before. Here's a video

The 'I miss you' Hug;
This hug can be preceeded by a little run up and a jump, depending on the circumstances. The grip of this hug is strongest and may be accompanied by the bigger lifting the smaller person up off their feet or side to side rotation (saggital rotation for those who know the lingo, or even transverse rotation). The majority of the body could be in contact. Personal space isn't an issue at all as both people would find the comfort zone and stick with it. The duration can last for much longer than the previous two hugs because of the amount of time the pair have not been with each other. This is not only for a couple in a relationship, but also close friends who genuinely missed each other.

The 'I love you' Hug;
The most loving of all hugs. The longest lasting, time wise. As much of each person's body would be in contact as possible. They feel like they are one. A lovely warmth emits from both people and they can feel more complete than before their loving warm embrace. There is not a whole load of movement as both people enjoy their body's in still contact. The duration can feel like it could last forever.
